Move-In Information
When can I move in to my academic year space for SLD?
RA Move-in begins Friday, September 1st. For Residence Hall RA's, key pick-up and check-in is at the Anacapa front desk. For Apartment RA's, key pick-up will be at the Santa Ynez front office.
Can I move in before the scheduled move-in date?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate early move-ins before Friday, September 1st.
What's the latest time I can move in?
With move-in beginning over the weekend, staff are able to move in any time after noon on September 1st. We ask that all staff arrive before Tuesday, September 5th to allow for staff to be able to engage with training fully.
Where can I park during move-in?
For those bringing a car for the academic year, please be sure to purchase a parking permit with Transportation and Parking Services prior to arrival to campus.

The Summer Conference ePermits are valid in lots 18 & 22 in addition to their designated housing areas depending on the housing assignment. Any RA with a car will need to purchase this Summer Conference e-Permit which will be valid from the time they move in to when their AY permit would start.

Where do I get my keys?
All Resident Assistants (both Apartment and Residence Hall RA's) will pick up their keys at the Anacapa front desk. The Anacapa desk is open 24/7 and keys are available for pick-up beginning at noon on Friday, September 1st.
SLD Logistics
When will all the training sessions be?
Training sessions will be weekdays from 9:00AM-5:00PM, with a few days beginning and ending earlier or later (but no earlier than 8:00AM and no later than 5:30PM) between Tuesday, September 5th and Wednesday, September 20th.

Will food be provided during SLD?
RAs with meal plans will be able to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at De La Guerra (DLG) Dining Commons. DLG is the only dining hall open during SLD.
RAs without meal plans will be provided a set number of meal tickets to be used during some of the training days. We encourage you all to plan out when you will utilize these meal tickets and days where you do not use your meal tickets, you will be responsible for providing your own lunch.
All RAs will be provided a catered lunch on Tuesday, September 19th for the AVC Luncheon.

Are all sessions mandatory?
Yes - all Student Leadership Development sessions are required trainings.
I already work for the University - Do I still need to complete all of the hiring paperwork?
In most cases, if you work for the university in a separate office, you will not need to complete another I-9 verification. You will still need to complete the background check. For more information, please email [email protected].
